| Same here Arthur, i'll be blagging flexible lunch breaks and early finishes to cram as much of it in as I can. 11 June when the opening game is on is a bank holiday here, so that one's covered As for the tourney, it's tough to call, but Spain & Brazil are obvious contenders. Don't write off Italy as defending champs or Germany. The Germans were supposed to be shit at the last two tournaments and they finished 2nd and 3rd... Holland would be a very outside bet, but don't bank on Portugal or Argentina to do anything except flatter to deceive. Holland and more so Portugal just don't have the squad in my opinion and Argentina barely qualified with Diego at the helm so why they'll do any better in the actual tournament is beyond me. As for England, they will most likely crash and burn around the quarters as usual. There's too many reasons why to list, but here's my top 5: 1) Our goalkeepers are all sub-standard 2) Our defenders are all either unfit, injury prone or massively out of form 3) Gerrard and Lampard still can't play in the same team together 4) Our wingers haven't got the final ball nailed 5) Emile Heskey - please leave him at home where he fucking belongs and give his place on the plane to someone better, like Alan Shearer lol Notwithstanding the above, the way Mexico carved us open and we had to rely on a combination of good saves and poor finishing to beat them... plenty of better teams than Mexico to beat if we want to win the tournament. On the plus, the new Carlsberg advert is probably the best advert in the world..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66OuJZGDCHE 'Men of England..... it's time to join the immortals....' | |

| Good news for England though, Rio "Dopey Cunt Who Makes At Least One Glaring Mistake Each Game That Would Cost Him Were His Teammates Not Massively Better Than Him And Able To Cover Him 95% Of The Time" Ferdinand is out.
Why is he even captain in the first place? The boy hasn't been match fit for a year or more. We might as well give it to Ledley "20 Minutes" King or Emlie "The Stats Don't Lie" Heskey.
Sorry for the pessimism, but it's hard to get carried away with England's chances this year... | |

| USA beat Spain not 12 months ago. How many other teams can boast that? I have to admit I quite like the Amercian footy team, they always throw a few upsets in to the mix, they make things a bit more interesting. Same goes for Australia. Can't see them beating England tho, hard to think of any American player who is better than his English counterpart. ps) Chrisi - if you were English, you'd be pessimistic too... get to the semi finals and lose on penalties to the bloody Germans... again!! | |

| so 2 days to go till we start our campaign and the press have started, i actually heard about this nearly 2 months ago from the same journalist that released the john terry/wayne bridge saga but apparently steven gerrard has got a 17 year old girl pregnant, been dumped by his wife and has been trying to keep the whole thing quiet with a high court injunction against the press, so will gerrard now lose the captaincy, will his mind be on the job in hand and will he have yet another shit world cup as of 4 years ago when he was going to join chelski and he has still to say where he'll be playing next season. i hope it's liverpool but after the season we just had i wouldn't blame him for going | |
