| was watching liverpool v manU. made me think of possible rule changes. feel free to add your own thoughts.
1. red/yellow cards. i think they are given out too easy. red cards i think should have a video review first. becuase the consequences of a red card make the match so imbalanced. usually the game is stopped at that point anyways, since both teams are preening for a fight, coaches are on the field arguing, or someone is rolling around and the medics are coming out.
i also think the sys should be changed similar to hockey. i think a yellow card means the player goes to a penalty box for 10mins. afterwards, he can come back. if you get two yellows in a game, youre kicked out for the game, but your team can replace your position, provided they still have available substitutions. also that player is suspended for the next game. if you get a red card, then your team plays down a man for 20mins. you are kicked out of the game (but can be replaced with available substitution), and are suspended the next game. as it is, once a player is out, then the game is pretty much over for that team. this would give an advantage to the opposition, but still allow the other team to stay in the game and have a contest. it could also stimulate more exciting scoring, just like hockey.
2. goaline tech. matches are lost becuase refs are stupid/imprecise and the tech is already available. no brainer to me. nfl has video replay, hockey has goaline tech, tennis has radar. use the tech available to make the games fair.
3. game clock on display. why is the ref the only person who knows the real time of the game, in secret? dumb. have a clock visible to everyone in the stadium. its synced to the ref stopwatch. easy. it would also improve strategy of the coaching, and make the games more exciting.
anyone else?

| Insua has no defensive skills, that's why we fucked him off to Gala. Blu- 1) Manure - Liverpool, when we went a man down, the game was much more interesting. It adds a different dimension to the tactical battle between the two teams. Manure scored fewer goals with more men, go figure that one out! Good luck convincing Sepp to go for them radical overhauls anyway my friend 2) Yes. Could not agree more. Referees are all ballbags to a man, not one of them fit to decide what day it is, never mind whether it was a goal or not. 3) Interesting idea, but leaves the refs open to more scrutiny on the subjective areas, like when a team is time-wasting, you stop the watch, but what one ref deems time-wasting, another doesn't. Not sure it would help to be honest. Unfortunately the whole game is devolving rapidly in to the lifestyle of the rich and famous. They're all too precious these days. As for the diving, this is unfortunately a continental influence, largely influxed throughout the World by Italians and Portuguese. Then you get the Greeks, the Turks, the Baltics, who'd stick a knife in you as soon as look at you, cheating their way to success. Pretty soon, everyone has to do it just to keep up, and that's where we are today. But obviously England aren't perfect. Cunts like Wayne Rooney and John Terry rdicule what it means to be an English footballer. But at the end of the day, if referees carded players en masse for 'flopping' and cheating, then it would disappear from the game immediately. Never gonna happen tho. Maybe I should become an NFL fan | |
