| I bet there's about 7 Americans who know what you're talking about 2-2 now, 15 mins to go. Only one winner here, surely.. | |

| 3-2 Brazil. Hooray Funny tho cos everyone was talking about Spain being hot favourites for the World Cup next summer, then they lost to USA and people started to question that, maybe Brazil were the favourites... What if the USA had beaten Brazil as well? Would that make them the favourites for the World Cup!!? LMAO | |

| F***
USA lost its legs. kaka ran wild (and noticed he is pretty dirty with all those flailing elbows) altidore, i really like him, but he needs to stpo complaining so much, man up, and put in some effort.
congrats brasil. that was a spectacular 2nd half for u. it prb should have been 4-2.
poor tim howard. lost the FA cup, and now the conferderate cup. and he really is a stellar goalkeeper. unforts USA has only one good defensive player in onyewu.....

| USA remind me of Everton, all their players are middle of the road rubbish, but they somehow manage to turn that in to good performances. Credit that. Poor Tim Howard my arse tho, dirty Everton scum The US' second goal tho - | |

| Nah what happens in football sometimes is a team 'scores too early'. Like, if an underdog scores a goal in the first minute of a game, then you can pretty much guarantee they are going to be defending for their lives for the other 89 minutes and more often than not the better team will win in that situation.
What America did was punish Brazil for being poor, took a 2-0 lead in to half time, but it's the mentality of the underdog that fails sometimes. The Americans will all have been thinking 'we are 2-0 up, now lets just keep things tight and win the game' but thinking negatively like that almost always costs the underdog.
What Brazil did was re-group in the half time break, coach made some changes, and his team came out playing much better and took charge of the game. It was inevitable they would go on and win it once they got the second goal. Teams just can't cope with the mental exhaustion of being 2-0 up and throwing it away.
Good effort by the Americano's tho and Donovan's goal was peachy as fuck.

| yes, that was a sick goal. utterly ridiculous cutback cross. cheers to donovan. =)
i think what happened isnt exclusive to soccer. can apply it to almost any sport. usa came out roaring. then momentum was broken with the break. afterwards, they just played complacent, focused on holding the lead. so they discarded the very style that got them that 2 nil lead.
in basketball terms, they say, the game is a series of runs. whats important there is how you close out the quarter, and of course the 4th quarter is everything.
but im not sure usa would have been able to sustain the 1st half style even if they tried. they looked tired both physically and emotionally the second half. and matty, youre right. the 2nd goal was the dagger.

| ok, I get ya in american football when a team is winning they sometimes gio into "prevent defense" we always joke that the only thing you prevent is yourself from winning the game. Esp a team like pittsburgh, they blitz like 90% of time but when in prevent they rush maybe 2 to 3 guys instead of 6 with the blitz and play zone where people always find the open spot.....
they guys did credit each team for playing an attacking style though.....now I look forward to mexico city, right?

| eermm... I had to look it up, but yeah it seems that the US' next qualifying match for the World Cup next year is in Mexico on 12 August, so you would be correct. You're really gettin the hang of this soccer thing Thud Tough game, but Mexico don't seem to be doing very well in the qualifying campaign. | |
